Brush up and practice your English while learning a lot about Mainz and the surroundings. In this course we will focus on a range of local themes and discover Mainz on our "Walk and Talk" tours. On the first day the topics will be introduced with a range of key vocabulary. You can then choose a topic to work on and prepare short presentations. Each "Walk and Talk" session has a specific focus and tours will take us to points of interest related to the topic. During the tours we will listen to the presentations and exchange views and opinions. Topics will include: 1. the development of Mainz from the origins up to the present, 2 the river Rhine, fountains and water supply and 3. wine-growing, winemaking and wine-tasting

4 Sessions á 90 min.

Unit 1
Participants introduce themselves and after that the concept and program of the other 3 parts will be explained, word lists will be handed out and participants will choose their topics for each unit.

Unit 2
Topic: Inner City Area - Urban Development
During this city stroll you will learn about the urban renewals as well as the housing and development plans in the inner city area of Mainz after World War II.

Unit 3
Topic: Fountains, river Rhine and Water Supply
Our tour begins right in the middle of the Market Square at the beautiful Renaissance fountain. Here we will start our excursion and talk about the precious resource water
and discuss the importance of water supply in urban areas.

Unit 4
Meet the Wine Capital at its best and taste the regional wines!
Walk through the old town of Mainz and learn about long the wine tradition and history. Then enjoy a professional wine tasting of 4 regional wines in a wine boutique of the old town.
